I found this recipe on the Healthy Food Guide website- and it instantly appealed. It’s hard enough to get up in the mornings as it is, but with this breakfast awaiting you will gain that last ounce of motivation. Plus it’s so easy! Especially with the use of an apple corer/slicer. While some might think it’s a waste of space, all I can say to you is- gadgets are fun!
Apple and spice porridge
Serves 1
1 apple, peeled, cored and finely sliced
½ cup oats
A few pinches each of ground cinnamon and mixed spice
1 cup low-fat milk (I used oat milk)
Drizzle of honey
Sprinkling of slivered almonds
Combine first four items together in microwave proof dish. Cover and cook on high for 3 minutes.
